What exactly is an "Aggressive Realtor"?

By

I was having a conversation with a potential client today who just fired their last Realtor because he "Wasn't aggressive enough."  I then asked them, what more they were looking for in a Realtor and they replied with "You know, just more aggressive."

So my question to all of you is, what exatly is an Aggressive Realtor?

I think this can mean many different things. In the case of a buyer, it could mean that maybe that agent was not doing the leg work the buyer expected, like finding the homes, pulling up market or community information, etc. It could also mean that the agent was not as strong in the negotiating skills as that buyer would have liked.

When you ask sellers, they all say they want an aggressive agent to market their homes. And to me this means an agent that is going to proactively look for buyers for their home.

Whether it be buyers or sellers, I think most people want an agent that is a "Go-Getter." And the kind of agent that goes above and beyond for their clients.

Don't know if I'm write, but I hope that helps!

Evening Lia,  Casey has it nailed.  My suggestion would be that you should determine the expectations of the customer prior to any agreement.  That way you know what is expected and whether or not you work that way.

Maybe they just meant one who will get them the price they want. Amd not tell them about the bad market and the low comparables.

When I got my license, I had no business but a lot of complements how 'nice' I am. But who needs a 'nice' lawyer or 'nice' realtor? Being aggressive is not being rude, it means protecting your client interests.
