ACTIVE RAIN ~ MY DAILY MENTAL EXERCISE!  Most every real estate professional that I know are dedicated and disciplined people.  I read wonderful tid-bits of advice each day on Active Rain and am constantly challenged with new information on a daily basis.  Active Rain has become a part of my daily routine of which I feel is as important as my own physical exercise regimen.

I was inspired to write today's post after reading the cutest post by Charita Cadenhead  entitled "Give It To Me Straight Doc - Is There A Cure for Active Rain".  Charita's whimsical post resounded within me as I too find that Active Rain is embedded into my daily routine.  Her post inspired me to write my post today about Active Rain being my daily mental exercise.  Thanks Charita!

We all know the importance of daily exercise for our bodies.  The heart grows stronger as blood is encouraged to pump harder delivering the life-giving oxygen to our weary cells.  Our bones become stronger with regular exercise and the human body is better able to handle stress as a result.

Mental exercise provides many of the same benefits to us.  When we consistently learn new skills, read and think logically we develop critical thinking skills that truly enhance that wonderful organ that sits between our ears.  Daily feeding of the brain by really "thinking" has been shown to increase your mental capacity.

On the flip side, just as our bodies wither without exercise and we experience disease, the brain will also wither without regular use.  It is important to challenge our minds everyday.  You know the old saying, "Use it or Lose it" is very true.

So thank you Active Rain for helping me to exercise my weary brain.  And thank you to all of the wonderful contributors here on this site.  You guys have so much wisdom and advice that my brain enjoys soaking up every day!

Ok, now I am going to get back to my mental gymnastics!  Happy Thinking!

Paula: : I couldn't agree more. It is amazing to me the wealth of information (for free!) that we can all access here on AR. And I don't mind any mental "workout" if I can sit on my tush while doing it!    ;-)

So true Cari.  Even better, we could read AR while on a treadmill or stationary bike if we had the high tech equipment! :)

Active Rain can certainly be an addiction but it's a good addiction to have. I've learned so much here and "met" so many other agents. It's great use of our time as long as we aren't here 24/7 LOL!

That is true Jenny.  If we were on 24/7 it would be difficult to get any work done.  Thus, the discipline sets in.  Thanks for your comment.

Paula thanks for the mention.  I think AR is our mental 'Stimulus Package.'  Now if I could just get motivated about my physical endurance I'd do well.  But behind reading your post, there may be hope for me there as well.  With such busy lives, we can forget to take care of ourselves.
