Quick tip of the day!

Post Tip:

Look at all exterior wall outlets by unscrewing the plates and peaking underneath. If there's no insulation, they're likely letting in cold air. Head to the hardware store and pick up foam insulation specially made for outlets. Just cut to size, insert in the outlet and re-cover.              You will be surprised at just how much air can enter or escape from this small area of the wall.  It may be the cold draft you've been searching for!

You're all welcome.  Sometimes its just the small things in a home that are overlooked.

Contactors at times will recommend new windows or insulation that may not be the most effective, or Cost effective means of improving conditions.  The cost of these upgrades, especially winodws is in the thousands and will take a lifetime of home ownership to recoup the initial expense in energy cost savings.
