The trail runs along two counties, and contains directional and interpretive signage, offering birding enthusiasts endless opportunities to see the lives of the birds of the Gulf Coast.

The Alabama Coastal Birding Trail is arranged in a series of loops, and each loop indicates the best birding spots along the Alabama coast. It takes approximately a half day to explore each loop. You can receive detailed directions of the order you need to follow while you visit each loop and you can decide how much you would like to see.
