Isn't it funny that when you start a new career the furthest thing from your mind are the treasures you will find along the way. So it was for me in 1999, it was a hot June day and my husband had decided to buy a truck.
Not wanting to be left out of possibly helping to pick the color, I tagged along. We arrived at the local Dodge dealership and my husband got to talking to a nice young salesman; one thing led to another and my husband wound up mentioning that I was a Realtor. The truck salesman didn't need to do much selling that day because my husband had done his research and he had already decided he was coming home with a truck. What I didn't know was that this young truck salesman would start my real estate career that day.
As it turns out he needed help selling a little house close to Hobby Airport. He had a young family he wanted to move to the Sagemont area. I just smiled as I made an appointment to list his house. I sold that little house that looked like a little box for the list price of $59,000.
The sale of this little house didn't bring me much of a commission although it did bring me 2 additional listings, 4 buyer agency referrals and a life long friend. So very early on I learned that the most powerful method of selling was the friendly referral. It came with an introduction and it was free.
So to MooGoo Man I say thank you!
You're still the best!
