Kernersville, NC has a known tourist attraction called Körner’s Folly. Jule Gilmer Körner built the house in late 1880. It was built to be a showcase and example of his ideals. He loved interior design and created across the south bachelor’s quarters, artist studios, ballrooms, billiard rooms, etc. He also became a famous painter.
The house, in his opinion, was never complete. He often made renovations and additions. It has 22 rooms 3 floors, and high ceilings, 15 fireplaces, trap doors, and much, much more. It is a real must see and a hidden gem that Kernersville has to offer.
It is possibly one of the strangest houses in the world! Now on top of being a unique home to visit, there is the belief that the house is haunted! In fact on March 19th 2010 there is a “Hauntings through History” presentation at the Folly! It should be a great presentation and a fun way to learn more about Kernersville!
