Brookgreen Gardens

In 1931, Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, founded Brookgreen Gardens, a non-profit garden museum, " to preserve the native flora and fauna and display objects of art within that natural setting".

Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark with the most fabulous collection of sculpture, in an outdoor setting, by American artists in the world, and has the only zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos on the coast of the Carolinas.

Stroll through the gardens and delight in the peaceful & beautiful surroundings. Huge live Oak Trees just dripping in Spanish Moss, Gardens and blooms are abundant in many sections of the park as well.              Take a Boat tours along the river then stop and have lunch before you visit the zoo!                                       A full day of fun awaits you ~even when there aren't any special events planned for the day!
