Mistaken forclosure's ? Please!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Erlandson Realty

Did any-one watch Good Morning America this morning. How about the lady that had her home ransacked, and her bird stolen by the "Repo Man" when she actually was not the person or home they were looking for! They cut phone lines, electrical lines, and water lines. This is simply un-believable. Bank Of America says "sorry" Yeah sorry my ass! Who is responsible. This poor lady, the humiliation she has gone through, what do her neighbors think? She admitted she does not feel safe in her own home anymore. WOW, this is what she gets for not being late on her home loan, another person this morning had paid CASH for their home. NO MORTGAGE, yet the mortgage company ransacked their home, and better yet, paddle-locked it, so the owners could not get in.

When I was in the Marine Corp. some one was always to blame, if there was a mishap, these times S**t rolled uphill. You see they would start with the private and keep going up the ladder, well to the person who gave the order. Who is responsible, and who could have the right to cut the power. Does anyone even check? I am betting they were current on their power bills.

Come on this is the United States we live in, what has happened to innocent until found gulity. There is soime one guilty here, not the home owner(s). Lets start with the Repo man, and who ever told him, AKA the order giver. What would happen if we did this to another persons home. like on monopoly JAIL. GO TO JAIL. no collecting 200 dollars.

Something has to be done, and more importantly some one needs to be held responsible. Please some one tell me How can mistakes like this be made. There is NO REASON for this. These people did NOTHING WRONG. They did nothing to deserve the humiliation they received.

I want to know who is responsible at Bank Of America. and I am sure other lending institutes who have pulled the same stunts. Sorry for carrying on this morning, but WOW, this is really unbelievable.

With all the respect in the world to those you were taken advantage of.   Till next time

You are absolutely right. That is unbelievable.  To think that the reposession guy was made to believe that it was perfectly ok to cause that level of damage to the home regardless of whether the home was up for repossession or not.  What ever happened to the dignity of your profession?  Wouldn't that cause you to say "hey, we're going to try to re-sell this house after this foreclosure so let's make sure it is still in pristine condition"?  Not, "hey, this house is up for foreclosure so let's destroy it!"  Crazy!

Eric.  This is a case of arrogance of lenders.  They act, they do not research, they do not listen.

They have the power.

Lenn,

Thanks for the post. It's a sad thing isn't it. Like you said, they do not have to research, and it looks like they didn't have to be responsible for their actions either.

Eric, this is unbelievable, but mistakes are made. It's like when a surgeon cuts off the wrong limb. This lady definitely has legal recourse for what the bank did to her.
