If your home is anything like mine, you've accumulated a fair amount of "stuff" around the house. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I still have a couple of boxes with kids' toys (my kids are now 18 and 20) that we moved from our old house 10 years ago - taking up space in my basement storage area. I've been dedicating some time to cleaning out the clutter and I'm thrilled with the results.
It's such a great feeling - ridding my home of unused and unneeded stuff. I'm going to be much more careful about what is worthy of keeping. I started at the top of the house and have been working my way down to the basement. I'd better finish up soon, because the last place I want to be on a beautiful Spring day is inside the house.
It's imperative for sellers to clean their home of any clutter before getting it on the market - not only good for getting your home market ready, but it's a great feeling to get organized and de-clutter. There are a variety of websites available with great ideas for getting things in order around your home. Here are a couple that I've found helpful, Real Simple and Flylady which take you step-by-step through some basics to get your clutter under control.
If you're thinking of getting your home ready for sale, I'd be happy to provide you with ideas, tips and suggestions that can make your home more saleable.
