Winning or Whining

Across the nation we have all been hit pretty hard on the downturn of our economy.  It has definitely been one that has in a sense brought some Americans closer together.

American Pride

It today's market you are going to either sink or swim.  But you are the deciding factor in what happens.  There is no time to waste sitting next to someone that says the sky is falling because it only hinders you.  How does it hinder you?  You just waisted those minutes or seconds listening to it that you can never get back. The doom and gloom folks fester on people and before you know it you will start believing what they are saying.  You should treat them like the plague and get as far away from them as possible.

Marine

One thing that gets me is hearing folks whine about the weather and the fact they have to go out in it.  Whether it is to take a loan application at some other location other than there office or have to go around showing houses in it.  I served for 8 years in the Marine Corps and honestly loved every bit of it.  When I hear about these people that are whining about going out in the weather conditions I think about my fellow Marines and all other service members that are serving our nation.  They don't have a choice in when or when not to go out into the elements.  Put yourself in their shoes they don't have that guarantee that they get to go home to see their loved ones.

Motivation

They saying always goes if it isn't raining we aren't training.  Sometimes I firmly believed that because of the days upon days that it would rain on us.  But I used that as a motivational tool to motivate my Marines.  When you start to see the doom and gloom it is time to get Motivated or find someone that is good at giving you motivation.  We all have different ways that get us motivated.  Use it as a tool and push forward.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi Corey,  You're right on target with this one.  I had my best year ever last year in part due to finding the negative elements around me and working hard to avoid them !

Corey,

I got a great surprise yesterday. I got a call from a nephew that I hadn't heard from in a couple of years. He was calling via SKYPE from Iraq. It's great to keep in touch with those who are keeping the peace.

Positively speaking,

Steve

You make some very good points Corey...when life brings lemons it's time for a lemonade party. We all have to make the best of the hand we've been delt and trust that it is all working out for a higher good.

Corey,

I have a girlfriend who retired from the Army National Guard after 23 years and her husband served 30 years in the Army before dying 30 days prior to his own retirement. When she hears about the economic hardships being endured by folks today, she puts it in perspective by reminding us of how our military sacrifice hearth and home to serve for our freedom to whine. Thanks for your reminder!
