Happy Birthday, Mom. I hope you're proud.

Today is my mother's birthday. She would have been 92. This tremendously loved and lovely lady died 3 years ago. Her goal was to live to be 120.

Mom was a hard task master. She insisted that each of her 3 children did their very best. If I received an 'A' on my report card she wanted to know why it wasn't an 'A+'.

She insisted that my brother, who had learning disabilities, go to college. He did and received his Master's Degree.

She told us over and over that we could be anything we wanted to be. We just needed to be the best "anything" we could be.

It is quite apparent that I do not always live up to this. But the fact that I try is a tribute to my mother.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Lisa, I hope that YOU are proud of your accomplishments.  It is important that your Mom cared enough to encourage you to do your best, but you also need to feel the pride!
