Currently Douglas County is the 6th fastest growing county in the U.S. down from #1 of previous years.  Growth has slowed down a little, but the popularity of Douglas County has  not slowed at all. National media agrees, read on:

Castle Rock of Douglas County is featured the August 2007 issue of Family Circle Magazine for being one of the 10 Best Towns for Families.  The criteria for being considered was to "blend affordable houses, good jobs, top-rated schools, wide-open spaces, and a lot less stress."
