Spring Cleaning: Your Well Being

By

You may wonder what your health and well being have to do with Spring Cleaning. Actually, taking very good care of yourself is the most important job you have. In coaching, we call it extreme self-care. This isn't being selfish; it is recognizing that a healthy you is a prerequisite to your performance and ability to thrive. A strong foundation, good habits and practices can make the difference between facing each day with delight and expectation and facing the day just to get through it.

Twice last week, I had conversations with friends who have a parent and children whose needs they must juggle as well as trying to run their businesses. Dubbed the sandwich generation, many baby-boomers find themselves in a caregiver role for one or both their parents and needing to support their kids in various ways as well. Others have health challenges, often exacerbated by stress, worry and lack of reserves. If this isn't you, I bet you know someone who is faced with this. Whatever your situation right now, ask "are you taking good enough care of yourself?" Let's focus on doing some clutter busting (getting rid of old beliefs and habits) in this area and some conscious thought to what will take your health and well being to the next level.

If you've downloaded My March Freebie: the Clean Sweep AssessmentTM, you know this is the second area to rate yourself on. If you haven't downloaded it, just click the link to get this 100-point assessment.

Some of the items on this list are important preventative measures many of us procrastinate or put off. Schedule what you need to check these off this month. These will be easy and smart to get handled. Some are practices that maybe are unconscious that don't support you. If you are strong in this area! Good for you!

Actions to take:

  • Score yourself on this section of The Clean Sweep
  • Choose 5 to take action on immediately
  • Schedule any overdue doctor or dentist appointments
  • Determine what 1 action, if you did it consistently... would make the most difference in your being healthier. For the next 30 days, do this action every day.

Joeann ~ You are preaching to the choir here.  I have been needing a good clean swift kick in the butt to do some spring cleaning in my home office and garage.  This is just the kick I needed to get started :)
