Cute photos; my partner was there recently, but it seems all the characters were NOT out on the grounds; it was too hot for them, I guess!

Colleen - I think this post increases my guilt.  Just a few days ago my mom reminded me that we have never taken our 2 year old to Disney.  Then yesterday a colleague tells me that he just took his son. And today, BAM!  a great post full of everything we need to make those plans.  I will probably wait until it gets a little cooler, but thanks so much for the great info.  I especially love breakfast with the characters, we have done Mickey and Goofy, Winnie The Pooh and Tiger...and others.  (and you better believe I will call you when I'm up there)

All great suggestions. A couple others I would add, get disposable camera for the kids. This also gives them something to do and the pictures from their perspective are great. Our daughter did this last year at 4 1/2 and had a great time with it. Also get pictures with key characters away from the Magic Kingdom. Some of the best pictures we got with Mickey were at MGM. The lines for character pictures there were much shorter and the characters took a lot more time with each child. Also if you have the ability to freeze bottles of water to take with you, they melt over the day and you always have very cold water. Great when the temperature is so high.

Bill & Barbara -- They have spots that are air conditioned, you just need to know where to look for the characters...

Nicholas as Figment and Nicole as Evil WitchRick & Ines -- the perfect age is 7 for the first time...  My son was 7 the first time and he was still young enough to enjoy certain aspects yet was old enough to understand thinks like lines...  So don't feel guilty!

My favorite time of the year is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween.  Get the tickets now (they sell out) they have the run of the headless horseman, trick or treating on Main Street, the characters dressed as characters, special Halloween parade and amazing fireworks!  We went a couple of years ago and Nicholas went as Figment (My favorite Disney Character) and he was a hit at the park!!

Melissa -- some great ideas!  They are also great in your backpack sitting up against your back!  Another idea which sounds really weird, but if you have been there you will know what I mean.  Rent lockers, bring a complete set of change of clothes (underwear and all).  About 3/4 of the way through the day change.  It is a grat reacharge.

Missy -- all Forida residents are eligible for Annual Passes!   The best investment.  Out of 365 days we used them 59 days!

What a great resource for visitors to Disney. You should have Mike put a link to your site as well. We have friends here who get the Florida Resident Pass that Missy asked about - they go up there quite often, but still enjoy living on the Gulf of Mexico here.

I guess you had to figure some one would work out a system to visit Disney. But from what I've heard you have to work the details out prior to getting there or you waste time and money. I heard a rumor once that if you were a stock holder of Disneys you could get special discounts and benefits. I wonder if this is true?

Dena -- never heard that, but you know about rumors.  Actually going to the parks now we don't plan, we sample because we have been so many times.

David -- There are so many wonderful things to do...  That age they are either scared of the chracters or they love them!  Just wait !  Nicole is my son's step sister but I love her like a daughter!

Colleen before we got my married Disney World was the one place my husband insisted on taking me before he moved to Albuquerque to be with me. I wish we had taken pictures but new love and all I wasn't thinking of it. My first view of Orlando by day was looking out of the hotel and seeing Epcot. This brought back some great memories.

I have lived in Orlando for over 10 years and worked as a character at Disney when I was in high school.  I now live only 1.5 miles behind the Magic Kingdom and get to see the fireworks over my lake every night.  I am saying this to brag... just as I have the realized the "Magic" of the Magic Kingdom is gone for me after all these years.  I still go every couple of years when friends and family come into town, but I have lost touch with the fun and excitement that I use to have.  My favorite part about going to the parks is to see all of these people and families having a great time.  To see the smiles on their faces.  Thanks to everyone for coming to Orlando and enjoying the beauty and parks and beaches we have to offer.
