Although many of our residents are still actively employed, many are retired. In Sun City Vistoso one can be as active as they want, or just enjoy living. Many of our homeowners exemplify the living of an active adult resort lifestyle, participating in physically demanding activities ranging from swimming, golf and tennis to all types of dancing, aerobic exercise, group hiking on nearby trails and in the Grand Canyon. They are interested in Sun City Vistoso's challenging new amenities, such as Pickleball - recently described by the Arizona Republic as ''the hottest fitness fad at active adult communities."
Many homeowners are continually learning through diverse activities such as genealogy and in the computer learning center, Institute of Learning in Retirement, arts and crafts classes, a variety of discussion groups, such as the Investment Club, etc. The University of Arizona and Pima Community College are also nearby. Residents are social - playing cards, traveling, singing, and hosting gourmet dinners. They are volunteers - serving as Board Members, on committees, patrolling SCV in the wee small hours as part of the Posse (our neighborhood watch par none), hosting the Special and Senior Olympics, tutoring, ushering at special events, and giving a helping hand to those who need one.
Some residents are grandparents and make frequent use of the amenities provided for children who visit such as beds and highchairs from the Loan Room; children's books, DVDs and puzzles from the library: special children's hours at the pools; and our miniature golf course. Sun City Vistoso is a highly desirable place to live. Sun City's home sales, in terms of both prices and unsold inventory, are competitive with nearby communities with homes of comparable size but with little or no amenities such as ours.
