Grand Targhee and District 401 working cooperatively offer a Winter Sports program that was implemented in the early ‘70's. Kids have the option to head to the ski hill once a week for five weeks to learn to ski or board. The cost is discounted and volunteers teach the kids skills that will last a lifetime.
The WINTER SPORTS program begins the second week in January and schools participate one afternoon a week. The students may choose to alpine ski at Grand Targhee, cross-country ski, snowshoe, ice skate, swim, or participate in an activity at school. The purpose of this program is to develop life-long physical skills. The fees are minimal and limited financial aid is available from the building principal. These fees vary depending on the sport.
