The Area Code Was for Colorado So I Thought My Son Was Calling for Money

Real Estate Agent with Integrity Real Estate Group

Okay before my son comes unglued he hasn’t called and asked for money for years.  He has a great job and a wonderful family but when I saw the 303 area code pop up on my phone I figured it was either he or is wife giving me a call.

Fortunately I didn’t answer with one of our usual family greetings as it turned out to be a staff member of RE/MAX International on the other end of the line.  They were inquiring to see if they could use one of my recent Active Rain posts to feature in an upcoming edition of RE/MAX Times On-Line.

Once I recovered from the surprise of course the response was yes.  The post they wanted to use had been featured on Active Rain and now "Higest and Best are Not Synonymous" has been featured in RE/MAX Times On-Line as well.  It proves once again that we truly don’t know who is reading our blogs.   With millions of eyes on-line everyday remembering that what we write might be found in unexpected places is important.

Thanks Active Rain for continuing to provide a platform that brings great Google juice for all of us growing our business with Web 2.0 technologies.

Cindy:  Thanks so much for posting.  I learn so much from.....oh wait....I'm not a robot.  Good for you!  I remember that post and it perfectly sums up the meaning of highest and best.  Highest is not always best.  There are many contract terms besides sales price.  As a result, many ways to make your offer the best.

Kay-yes they are.  Our local office has also called me in the past about reusing one of my blog posts.

Kristen-we truely don't know who is reading our blogs.  I had two calls this weekend for new listings and they called because they have read my blog.

As long as your family greeting wasn't one of the Bubba greetings from the boondocks that are usually sprinkled with some interesting words, the RE/MAX staffer probably would have thought nothing of it, once you explained, of course. LOL

Come join the fun in ActiveRain's Guerrilla Marketing Team Contest.

Pat-thanks we are in a different market and terms are just as important as highest price.

John-it was a surprise to get the call.

Russell-fortunately since his name didn't pop up in the caller ID I refrained from the usually Bubba greeting :-)

Dedra-this weekend I had 6 offers on one listing and 7 on another.  I kept repeating to the buyers agents who said my clients will escalate to "X" it isn't always about the $$$$ it is terms and conditions.  A few of them listened :-)
