Facebook goes to court!

By
Real Estate Agent with CondoDomain.com

I blogged earlier in the week on Social Networking(Facebook). I am a big fan of facebook it bypasses myspace by far. Many people are there for networking, friendship, etc. If any of you have been on the site would know that there are plenty AR profiles also there. I recieved a comment today by  Todd Clark stating Facebook was being taken to court. Huh, why I asked? I started to research through google and my local newspaper. How could i have missed this? Well then I received another comment this time from Jeff Scislow (Thanks Jeff) letting me know why. Apparently two brothers are stating that the creator of Facebook stoled the program code. He was helping them create a network for their college they were attending(Harvard). Apparently he stalled, and then released Facebook. They will be going to court tomorrow. I will contiune to follow this case. He may be forced to shut done.

The brothers also are running a Network site ConnectU.com. Not that many users compared to Facebook. Here is the link from Time about the case. http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1646696,00.html. So tell me what do you think?

Oh, this sort of thing always happens when someone does something that is very successful.  I think the chances are small that facebook will loose or this case would have come forward sooner.

Here's hoping they can work it out!  Reminds me of the suit that guy filed against Blackberry - that one sure panicked a lot of people!

I have not had much luck with Facebook in the Orlando area. Mostly a younger crowd  here.

Yeah, Facebook came out in 2004 and we are now hearing about this lawsuit. Yahoo tried to buy Facebook for 1 Billion dollars and he turned them down. I hardly doubt the courts will shut them down. At least I hope they don't.

I really hope they don't do anything harmful to Facebook.  I think it is a great site and I would hate to see it get shut down. Thanks for the post though - I had no idea about the lawsuit.

Everyone who's a fan of facebook, is it just for fun/personal stuff, or are you thinking it's beneficial from a business perspective?

My 18 year old daughter loves Facebook and it is a great way for her to keep updated with her friends and classmates especially since she will leave for college soon. She swears by it and uses it now instead of MySpace. I hope it all turns out okay!

I use to use myspace as well. But what I enjoy about facebook, it seems more interactive to the area you are interested in. Local networks is where i'm getting at. I fell upon it and now I'm addicted.
