Many of you know that I recently introduced Lisa Stafford to the Rain.  She was an agent who was struggling.  Her broker told her to visit with me and a few other agents in the company to see if we could help her out.  So we met over breakfast where I introduced her to Active Rain and the 177,000 friends of mine who understand the power of blogging.  Click here to visit Lisa's profile and see her latest blog.

What Works for YouLisa jumped in immediately and began blogging, which was really interesting because, for a long time, she couldn't understand how it all worked.  I kept trying to explain to her that blogging would bring her leads and that she needed to be blogging neighborhoods, market reports and life stories.  What I didn't know at the time was that she had what I call the Buffini Blinders on.  She had done the Brian Buffini 100 Days to Greatness class and was operating within the Buffini system.  Now, don't get me wrong, I love the Buffini system.  I've been through his 100 Days Training.  But I believe that the most effective system today is a combo of Buffini, social media and blogging.  Lisa wasn't putting together the whole package.  She just kept thinking she had to work her top clients and pull in the referral business.  One day recently, the light bulb finally went off for Lisa.  She put it all together.  And the funny thing is, in the meantime, without understanding it all, she kept at it.  She kept blogging.

And guess what happened yesterday?  She got a call from a lady who read one of her blogs and wanted Lisa to show her a house.  BINGO!  This, my friends is what it is all about.  Making the phone ring...connecting with people.  Generating leads.

The lesson learned here is that we must continually be working various processes in order to generate leads.  Do the Buffini mayor program if it works for you.  Buy your leads if you can afford to.  But above all else, blog!  Be in the Rain.  Learn from other bloggers and Active Rain University.  And remember, what you spend verses what you get at Active Rain is far and away the least amount of money you will spend on lead generation anywhere!

Now, let's go get those leads!  The selling season is here!

PS - I have heard Buffini is now adding social media to his program.  Does anyone know if this is true?

Very timely for me Mary, as I've just started with Buffini and he does not say much about blogging. I appreciate you reposting this.

I would blog even if I didn't get leads - I know that sounds funny but I love to write and I love to "meet" new member through their comments on my blogs. I've met so many people from all over that I would never come in contact with otherwise. This is an amazing community!
