The Great American Hot Air Balloon Ride ~ Good Morning Davenport!

A good friend woke me very early this morning with a phone call. While on the phone I heard this strange noise in my backyard...

Open up the shades and there were two Hot Air Balloons flying rather low in my backyard! Never one to miss an opportunity to feature something on my BLOG, I run grab my camera and take a bunch of photos. Only after I sit down to look at my photos do I realize I was waving to the people in the balloon in my nightgown, hair not brushed -- they must have had a good laugh... Thank God they didn't land here, that would have been even more embarrassing!

Colleen, even though I am scared of heights I would love to someday go up on a hot air balloon. RE/MAX has had their balloon at some events around here, but I have not been able to attend one of those events yet, I guess I will have to make more of an effort to catch the next one.

I remember the big Derby-time balloon races in Louisville, KY... and sometimes there would be balloonists that would land in my neighborhood just to excite the kids...

they are an amazing treat because such beauty comes in simplicity
