Is There a place on AR that shows examples of contracts and invoices for Stagers

By
Home Stager with All In One Staging Inc. ( A Home Staged is A Home Sold!)

Im trying to get the ball rolling so when I Stage Full-Time for my own company I know what to expect. We have been Staging for 3+ years for family & friends that own real estate & mortgage companies.  We always work under their insurance and bonds.  I was wondering if there are any groups or examples of contracts I can show my attorney as samples of how other Stagers work. I'm also unsure if I need an my attorney or can my accountant write up contracts (and invoice template legalites)?

I have received great feedback on a previous insurance questions I posted & hopefully I can get the same help for this.

Any advise will help.  Thank you for all the wonderful feedback and friendliness.

Hi Sandra, I'll email you a copy of my contract if you like.  And I just use an invoice template available in microsoft.

Hey, Sandra:

Some stagers, even those in business for years, don't work with contracts.  They talk to the clients, tell them what is needed, get paid, and all is well.

I used a contract on my first staging job, and have kept up the practice since.  Mine is just a boilerplace liability contract I grabbed from the internet and customized until it felt right.  My personal philosophy is that I'm prepared to take responsibility for everything I do, including "learning" by being burned.  So far on large jobs ($7k+) and small ones ($1,200 +/-) the contract has never been challenged, and I've never had a problem.

My one nugget of wisdom for you:  if the Realtor is your client (paying you), have all parties on the contract.  THIS INCLUDES HOMEOWNERS, since it's their space you're invading, and their stuff you're movin' around.

Best to you.  Be open, be flexible, trust the Universe, trust yourself, and laugh at your mistakes.  But LEARN from everything!

Cheers!

Jaynee

Sandra, thanks for bringing this up and Kathleen thanks for the links to other blogs - good info.  I think I'm going to review my contract and see if I need to be a bit more specific to protect myself more.

Sandra or Terry,
Would you please send me a copy of the contract as well to   maureen@already2stage.com
I'm trying to gather a few templates and ideas (Tina Parker's blog was very helpful) to take to a contract attorney.  Would rather collect the basics and have a contract attorney fine tune it for my needs.  I'm new to the staging world and looking for resources.  This website has been a blessing!  Cheers to all for sharing their experiences and wisdom.

Hi Maureen.

I'm having trouble opening the file right now, but as soon as I open it I will try to help you out, I love this site too... Everyone is very helpful.  I am going to a Real Estate attorney today that someone recommended to me who really knows how to write great contracts that cover everything, and there might even be fine print. I never thought I would be the one putting fine print in anything,,LOL.  But I will let you know how it went.

Thanks Sandra!  What format is the file in?  Maybe you can fwd me the email and I can open it and save it into something you can open??
I would love to hear how it went with the Real Estate Attorney.  When I went to see my CPA about this venture and a few other items, he mentioned that I should see a Contract Attorney not a Real Estate Attorney for this matter.  I didn't think to ask him why.  Now I'm curious...  Maybe we can compare notes.

Hello,
For all those that have a contract and asked Sandra for a copy of hers to compare.... Would you mind sending me a copy of yours?  The more examples I have the better to pick and choose what is necessary in mine.  Thanks so much!  maureen@already2stage.com

We ended up going to a my cousin who is a RE lawyer and she put together a contract for us, well more like 3 contracts with subcontracts just so we covered everything.

It was worth paying the money, although ASP has contract forms you can use, or get ideas from, I recommend going to a RE lawyer and have them customize it to what you will be offering.

just my opinion
