Just imagine...

This is just a passing thought...

Congress and the President have worked for nearly a year on this health care bill.  Congress and other presidents also worked on this for over 10 years before.  10's of thousands of hours have been used on this issue.

NOW...Just imagine...

What if congress and the Presidents had worked this hard to reduce the deficit.

What if congress and the Presidents had worked this hare on educating our youth.

What if congress and the President had worked this hard on getting clean energy at a reasonable price and reduced our dependence on foreign oil.

What if congress and the Presidents had worked this hard on helping the American Businesses to create more American Jobs.

If congress and the Presidents had worked this hard on the above issues, there would be more good paying jobs with health care and the above bill would not have been necessary.

WHAT IF?!!!!!!!!

Politics takes form as a polarizing priority. Individuals are easy to work with. It's when individuals become part of a group that they get swayed. Group thought can be unreasonable and be self serving. Watching this unfold has been a sad comment on where we are going.

If he had worked as hard on the issues of unemployment, job creation and foreign oil dependence we might actually be moving forward.  Instead we are being burdened by more debt and moving backwards.

Hi Bill, you nailed it with this post. I agree with Bonnie. If jobs had been the focus, so many other problem areas would have been helped as well, including real estate. We'd have a much more sustainable future . . . there is a term the politicians like to throw around, and they actually could have done it.

You have made some wonderful points!  I think we'd be a whole lot better off if the focus had been elsewhere.

Amen....and what if the more than 100 teachers in my area didn't have to lose their jobs because of cutbacks, this whole thing stinks of bad policy

Had they worked hard on all the things you mentioned in the first place, they would have gotten it right. That's just not Washington's style my friend.

William - a great question, and the follow up should be "Why didn't they?".
