As a real estate professional, I am constantly looking for ways to meet other business associates who I can network with and expand my data base. About a year ago, I received an invitation to attend our area's BNI chapter. I did not know anything about BNI, yet the invitation seemed to match what I was looking for when it came to a weekly meeting, simply with the purpose of giving and receiving referrals. I also found that if I joined, I would be the only commercial real estate agent in our chapter. Once I became a member, none of my competitors can join and participate.
BNI tells us that their primary objective is to assist its members in ways to improve their business and to educate them concerning how they can effectively network. Additionally, BNI is a business and professional networking organization that provides a positive and supportive, structured environment for the development and exchange of qualified business referrals. The organization presently has over 5,500 chapters in 42 countries around the world including chapters in North America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. Last year, members of BNI passed over 6.2 million referrals which generated almost $2.6 billion (U.S.) worth of business for each other.
If you have an opportunity to join a BNI Chapter in your area, take a serious look at their offering. A growing and vibrant chapter can be a major key to your real estate success. Our Clark County Chapter is just that; vibrant and growing with excited members and strong leadership. And we like to see each other win!
