HR3962 Health Care Bill (PDF)

http://docs.house.gov/rules/health/111_ahcaa.pdf

1,990 pages... Geez. I am sitting over here reading this puppy. I have student loans and it appears that the student loan business has now been snatched from private industry into the government fold. What does that mean? When the heck did that happen? Seriously...

You should read this. This bill is mad scary... Forget the TV sound bites. Find out the truth for yourself.

HR3962 Health Care Bill is enough to make you go "Hmm..."

To think I thought the auto dialers were making my eyes cross (LOL). I'm gonna go take a break, swipe my kids from school, then take them out on an adventure so we can blog about it together later. BTW, page 1248 is interesting. Check out "Advanced Education Nursing Grants." I have no idea how much student loan and grant info is hidden in this document but it is going to be fun finding out just how screwed we really are. With all that political squabbling going on how on earth did so many people (including me) miss this?

Wanna help me read this thing? Feel free to direct me to every page you guys find regarding students and their loans. Where is that money going? I want to know if we're paying for abortions if we take a government student loan to go to school. As an ordained quirky chick I don't think I want to do that... I have sooooo got to work overtime and pay the rest of my student loans off.

Seriously...

Sounds like that's going to be a "heavy" read for everyone. Nearly 2000 pages. I wonder how many trees fell to make this document.

Robert, you and me both. Plus it was revised how many times? So much for going green, eh? (LOL)

Keep us posted -- our eyes have lost focus on this there is so much gibberish and honestly after you read it you are not sure what you read --- all the best.

I have yet to read any of this, and in all honesty for fear that I may need medical attention for doing so, it may be best if I wait till later to give this the once over.

C, Jason Crouch read and disseminated it in 7 parts on his blog. I followed along then. Some parts, not as bad as purported. Other parts, worse than . . .

but it is going to be fun finding out just how screwed we really are

Degree of screwed-ness is the issue, yes. :)

I know one guy that read the whole thing, or so he claims. I believe him. I thought aloud that he must have been constipated and the room died laughing.

LMAO @ J Phillip. I find myself thinking I am having a diarrhea of explicatives for the constipated brains who wrote this (LOL). As a small business person who would love to grow her business, this bill gives me pause. A few really talented friends who make way more than I are already calculating the fines they plan on paying by not doing this (LOL). I feel for the ones who are seriously thinking of giving up their office help.

Candice, my love, it's a tricky read because following along with the replacements are soooo boring until you get to a part that casually says we're having a healthcare corps yadda uadda yadda blah blah blah who may or may not be US employees. Does that mean gov v private sector or out of country subcontractors? If something isn't prohibited, does that make it permissible if the wording is specifically vague enough? My cell phone was sold to me in the US, made in China and every time I want to talk to someone about it I find myself in India. Is this the new hypothetical health design? My doc is in NY, my health insurance issued by the City of New York, but now some unknown factor in an unknown location gets to tell them and me if my second visit to the hospital for a recurrence of the same issue should have been avoided so I trigger a "fine" notification and here's my portion I have to pay because "they" will not approve the expenditure or procedure. If  call the number will I get a subcontractor from the IRS or India? Will his person say: "It's not a "tax" but we can take it from your pending tax refund." My imagination is in overdrive so I may have to read this several times and highlight things.I'm kinda pissed because i picked my doctors based upon my belief they will help me. Now my docs are being told what to do by someone I did not pick. If I'm rich this wont affect me, if I am not, I will not get the same quality of care. The Sentate didn't cut their benefits but they cut mine. Free choice for the best care I deem fit was a benefit.

LOL @ JL. I know I need medical attention. My eyes are crossing (LOL). They make me want to go to school for nursing. If you promise them two years or more you get a lot of perks. Some hospitals in NY also pick up part of your tab as well. The right combination equals 1/3 to 1/5 a free educational ride. Great. A new side line for me to consider (LOL).

Bob and Carolin, I'm not sure what it all means so I may have to read it several times because a lot of similar ideas bounce back and forth if you look at it as a theme of subsections meddling with issues rather than simply a health care bill regarding one's health.
