When does a one hour car trip from South Jersey to Delaware cost $200?
WHEN YOUR EZ PASS ACCOUNT RUNS OUT WITHOUT YOUR REALIZING IT!!!!
My son goes to school at Wesley College in Dover DE. On Jan 10th my wife and I followed him down with a truck full of clothes and necessities, as his second semester started the next day. Unbeknownst to us, our EZ Pass account had gone below $0.
I've since paid 4 $27 tickets for TOLL VIOLATIONS to Delaware Port Authority. But that's not the best/worse part.
NOW I find out that I also owe the Delaware Memorial Bridge Commission for 3 MORE VIOLATIONS at $26 each. ONE OF WHICH was Jan 14th, by which date we'd already replenished our EZ PASS account. The rep tells me that even though we'd deposited $$$ into the account earlier in the day on the 14th, that it takes 48 hours to post, and that they still consider us to be in violation on that day also! EVEN THOUGH I CAN PROVE WITH A STATEMENT THAT WE DID INDEED DEPOSIT $$$$ PRIOR TO THE SO-CALLED VIOLATION.
This is the kind of beaureaucratic bulls--t that infuriates all of us. Real convenient, this EZ Pass system. If you can afford it.
