Alexandria Virginia 22308 Foreclosures and New Homes for Sale - Got a question this morning from a friend of a friend about foreclosures and new homes in 22308. This emcompasses a bunch of neighborhoods including Hollin Hall, Waynewood, Riverside Gardens, Stratford Landing and Oakbrooke to name a few. We aren't dealing with a foreclosure market in 22308 very much. There's one foreclosure just sitting there over on Old Stage that needs everything under the sun done to it (well not really - but it does smell like cats and the bathrooms might make you keel over and die). It would be a perfect opportunity for someone to work with a 203K loan and I think the bank is ready to cave on the price. The house has oodles of potential and a lot of space on four levels. As far as brand new homes.... in Hollin Hall there is a new subdivision called Hollin Knolls. These home are extra spacious and are very well done but they do take up a city block and there is no yard to speak of which remains an issue for most buyers. They are in a great location though and in a wonderful community. There are several other beautiful properties that are just one year young. Here's a list of newer construction in 22308:

The majority of our houses down here are older and are a varied mix of colonials, split foyers, split levels, ramblers and raised ramblers. The best part of living here is just the location. The drive from Old Town down the parkway is one of the most beautiful scenic commutes you could ever hope for....especially in the spring when the redbuds and dogwoods are popping out against the backdrop of the Potomac. You are only 11 miles to DC and 4 miles to Old Town with every conceivable amenity at your fingertips within minutes. It is truly a one of kind community, a slower pace (almost stopped in time if you walk into the Variety Store on Fort Hunt) and a tightly knit neighborhood. A great place to live whether a foreclosure, new construction or a 1950's rambler.
