Those of you traveling along the I-15 may have noticed some changes on the west side of the freeway where it crosses the Santa Ana River just south of Eastvale, California. Construction is now in full swing on what is expected to be one of the premiere Olympic quality equestrian complexes in the nation - Silverlakes Equestrian and Sports Complex.
This new facility, located within the City of Norco, will feature the following:
- 16 Grass fields with state-of-the-art bermuda natural grasses
- 8 Sand arenas for multi-discipline equestrian events
- 11 Year-round synthetic fields appropriate for soccer/lacross/football/field hockey
- RV Campground & Staging area with direct access to the 120-mile Santa Ana River Trail
- Internal Bridle Trail winding throughout the complex
- "The Barn" - multipurpose building, indoor sports and equestrian competition space
Norco is proud to finally see significant progress on this 122-acre lot which will squarely put Norco as a 'destination' on the equestrian map and solidify it's proclamation as 'Horse Town USA'. Events envisioned for the facility include multi-discipline horse shows, breed shows, horse trails, polo - virtually anything that can't be accommodated at Ingalls Park, the current site for most of Norco's equestrian events. Non-equestrian activities envisioned at the park include field sports (soccer, lacrosse, football & rugby), dog shows, rodeos, antique car shows, corporate events, concerts, circus performances, weddings, holiday church services, youth outreach events, community fairs, biking & jogging trails and RV/camping.
