Silverlakes Equestrian and Sports Park - Norco, CA

Those of you traveling along the I-15 may have noticed some changes on the west side of the freeway where it crosses the Santa Ana River just south of Eastvale, California.  Construction is now in full swing on what is expected to be one of the premiere Olympic quality equestrian complexes in the nation - Silverlakes Equestrian and Sports Complex.

This new facility, located within the City of Norco, will feature the following:

  • 16 Grass fields with state-of-the-art bermuda natural grasses
  • 8 Sand arenas for multi-discipline equestrian events
  • 11 Year-round synthetic fields appropriate for soccer/lacross/football/field hockey
  • RV Campground & Staging area with direct access to the 120-mile Santa Ana River Trail
  • Internal Bridle Trail winding throughout the complex
  • "The Barn" - multipurpose building, indoor sports and equestrian competition space

Norco is proud to finally see significant progress on this 122-acre lot which will squarely put Norco as a 'destination' on the equestrian map and solidify it's proclamation as 'Horse Town USA'.  Events envisioned for the facility include multi-discipline horse shows, breed shows, horse trails, polo - virtually anything that can't be accommodated at Ingalls Park, the current site for most of Norco's equestrian events. Non-equestrian activities envisioned at the park include field sports (soccer, lacrosse, football & rugby), dog shows, rodeos, antique car shows, corporate events, concerts, circus performances, weddings, holiday church services, youth outreach events, community fairs, biking & jogging trails and RV/camping.

Michael, this is great for the city of Norco. The 120 acres is definitely put to good use.

Michael - Great info.  I will forward this to my son whose wife is a equistrienne.  She competes in Arabian Riding competition and has two horses to board.

I've noticed that this project has come to a complete stop due to the rains and flooding.  Will they be continuing the project or be scrubbing it because it is in a flood zone?

Susie - I have no idea when the project will continue.  I've heard that funding is the delay but with the recent flooding in the area it certainly is a good question about what they will do to protect the facility when the waters rise.

Michael - Do you have a contact for anyone that I can talk to about import dirt that I have available for the equestrian project on Hamner?

Do you know when this park should be completed?

Also, will the campsites be for public rental or just for people attending events? In other words, If I want to go to spend a few days in Norco w/ my horses, will we be able to camp there & keep our horses there? I hope so & am so looking forward to it.

What will consist of the vendor village? Will the vendors be permanent shops or just vendor spaces for the day.

We live in the housing community just west of this proposed equestrian park. What are the developers going to do about the two lane roads (Hamner and Citrus, as well as A street)? This is going to cause all kinds of traffic problems for our neighborhood and we already have problems because of the High School being just west of us! Will we have the chance to address our concerns to the developers and the city?

Joe - The latest schedule update that I've heard is for early 2014 but I'm not holding my breath after so many delays....

Does anyone have the owners of Silverlakes contact information? I would like to approach them about bidding pest control for them.
