Ski for a Buck

It’s April Fools Day, but Waterville Valley Ski Resort isn’t fooling around with their $1 lift tickets!  That’s right, you can ski and ride for just a dollar today, so head to the mountain.  603-236-8311.

Easter Crafts

The Recreation Department will host two Easter-themed craft programs on Saturday, April 3.  From 10 a.m. to 12 noon join them for Easter Basket Decorating for all ages.  Bring your own basket or purchase one from the rec. dept.  They’ll supply all the crafty items you need to embellish your basket.  The cost is $5 per person, plus the cost of a basket.  From 1-3 p.m., the rec. dept. will hold an Egg Coloring & Decorating program for all ages.  Five dollars per person gets you six eggs and all the supplies you need to create Easter egg masterpieces.  603-236-4695.

Egg Drop Challenge

The challenge is to create a structure no larger than a shoebox to protect an uncooked egg, and then drop it from the Clock Tower at Town Square.  Those wishing to accept this mission should meet the Recreation Department staff at the Town Square Clock Tower on Saturday, April 3 at 4 p.m.  There is no charge to participate in this event.  603-236-4695.

Curious George Story & Craft

Join the Rey Center staff at their facility on the second level of Town Square on Saturday, April 3 from 11 a.m.to 12 noon and from 3-4 p.m. to listen to your favorite Rey stories read aloud.  A craft project will follow the reading.  The cost to participate is a suggested donation of $5 per child.  603-236-3308.

Extreme Pond Skimming

Test your fate on one of the biggest and deepest ponds in New Hampshire at Waterville Valley Ski Resort’s annual Extreme Pond Skimming on Saturday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m.  Registration will take place from 8-10 a.m. at the Event Yurt and the competition is open to the first 70 people who register. Too timid to try?  Join the crowds and watch from the side lines. After the skimming there will be an awards ceremony at Buckets.  603-236-8311.

Live Wildlife

Head to the Rey Center at Town Square on Saturday, April 3 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and learn how wild animals respond to the seasonal changes of spring.  Live, native New Hampshire wildlife will be the star of the evening during this program by the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center.  This program is sponsored by Waterville Valley Realty.  603-236-3308.

Kid’s Night Out

Kids ages 7 to 13 are invited to the Recreation Department on Saturday, April 3 from 7-9 p.m. for dodgeball, capture the flag and other gym games.  Pre-registration is highly recommended for this popular program.  603-236-4695.

Sunrise Services

The annual Easter Sunrise Church Service will be held atop Mt. Tecumseh on Sunday, April 4.  The White Peaks Quad will begin loading skiers and foot passengers at 5:30 a.m.  The Base Lodge will also open at 5:30 a.m.  The non-denominational service will begin at 6 a.m. and last about 30 minutes until the sun rises at 6:30 a.m.  The Base Lodge will begin serving Easter breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and the White Peaks Quad will continue to operate from 6:30-8 a.m. for free skiing.  At 8 a.m. the Ski Resort and Snapple will host an Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 12 and under.  Meet by Smokey the Bear at the bottom of the J-Bar. 603-236-8311.

Easter Egg Frenzy

The Recreation Department will host their Annual Easter Egg Hunt Frenzy on Sunday, April 4 from 9:30-10 a.m.  The Egg Hunt Frenzy will be held outside, so children should dress appropriately!  Find the eggs with golden tickets and win great prizes.  The Easter Bunny will be in attendance.  The cost is $5 per child.  603-236-4695.

Church Service

Pastors Shirley and Dave Marcroft will host a non-denominational Easter service at the Town Square Meeting Place on Sunday, April 4 at 10 a.m.  603-968-7251.

Easter Brunch

The Coyote Grill, which is located on the upper level of the White Mountain Athletic Club, will serve an Easter Brunch on Sunday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The Easter Bunny will be in attendance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  603-236-4919.
