Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler will be filming a portion of their upcoming movie, "Just Go With It" in Maui at the exquisit Grand Wailea Resort. Hundreds of extras are needed for the Columbia Pictures production. A casting call is set for Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Kihei.
I don't know about you, but I could handle getting paid to lounge around the pool side, eating and drinking for free while being a part of such an exciting event. Filming is projected to last 4 to 6 weeks. The photo below is the pool side mentioned above. It is a gorgeous posh resort where one can soak in the beauty of the island. I had the pleasure of revisiting the resort this week.
The pool area splits off into several narrow areas that pass under bridges and by the waterfalls. It is a lot of fun to swim through all of the different areas and admire all of the beauty around.
The Chapel shown below is decorated with hand crafted glass stained windows and surrounded by a mote full of Koi. It is a good thing that they are filming soon, as the chapel is scheduled for demolition.
The grounds where the chapel is will be turned into a floral garden with a wedding gazebo, while the pool and public areas will be expanded. Additionally, the resort will add on 300+ renovated rooms for guests.
As you walk through the Wialea grounds, you are surrounded by beautiful waterfalls and amazing statues that pay tribute to the Hawaiian culture.
For those of you who like to stroll along the beach, there is an amazing pathway which stretches from the McKenna Resort, (formerly the Maui Prince Hotel), to the gated McKenna community. Along the way, you will encounter a plethora of amazing flowers and stunning view of the ocean.
There are several ways to keep busy when visiting the Grand Wailea Resort. If you like to surf like I do, there are instructors available close by and some great waves to catch.
When you see this flag... the surf is up!!!
There is something to do for every individual, big or small. From shopping to scuba diving lessons, kayaking, or simply soaking in the sun... I am sure you will all have fun!
