Buying real estate anywhere is a major decision for those involved. And when it comes to a second home or investment property at the Jersey Shore, it might be even more significant. At the Jersey Shore, I have numerous buyers who take 1 to 5 years to reach these kinds of decisions. Of course, some do it on their first visit. But if you plan for the long haul, you will have them coming back to you all the time. So to emphasize the importance of all of this ... many agents should do far more planning than they now do. This involves getting a lot of reading material, keeping up with city-wide zoning issues, talking with title company officials and mortgage vendors, and getting on a variety of web-sites including the National Association of Realtors important site. All of this enables agents to keep informed ... and "pass it on!"
