Buying a Shore Property is a Significant Thing in Ocean City, New Jersey

 

Buying real estate anywhere is a major decision for those involved.  And when it comes to a second home or investment property at the Jersey Shore, it might be even more significant.  What often concerns me is that many realtors don't think to much about what I just stated ... and they are far too nonchalant about the whole thing.

What I'm really saying is that it is very important for agents to take the time to answer a lot of questions, possibly have a brief review of important points even before these questions come up.  How you approach this introductory aspect of the possible purchase is almost the critical ingredient for moving potential buyers from Point A to B.

At the Jersey Shore, I have numerous buyers who take 1 to 5 years to reach these kinds of decisions.  Of course, some do it on their first visit.  But if you plan for the long haul, you will have them coming back to you all the time.  So to emphasize the importance of all of this ... many agents should do far more planning than they now do.  This involves getting a lot of reading material, keeping up with city-wide zoning issues, talking with title company officials and mortgage vendors, and getting on a variety of web-sites including the National Association of Realtors important site.  All of this enables agents to keep informed ... and "pass it on!"

Buying a Shore Property is a significant thing,and how agents convey their understanding of that importance often determines if they continue to keep the particular buyer.  Real estate agents must assume a variety of roles in this changing real estate market.  In terms of the "resort realtor, one of the objectives has to be showing potential buyers how the addition of a shore property can enhance their personal financial portfolio for the long haul.                                     dap
