Spring Buying Season

It's finally here.  And there are many signs that not only are the flowers and the tree budding but so is the activity by buyers looking for a new place to call home.  There are many good reasons for home seekers to be looking now and picking up a great place to call home.

The homebuyer tax credit is still available until the end of April

Buying a place to live in this great city...Look what you get!

San Francisco View

1.  Here in California the governor has just signed a bill giving buyers a $10,000 credit over three years.  This credit lasts until end of December or when $200,000.000 of credit has been claimed.

2.  Prices appear to have stabilized.

3.  The economy appears to have turned around with a 5.6% increase in GDP in the last quarter with predictions for continued improvement this quarter.  Consumer confidence is improving.

4.  Predictions are the the US job market is starting to improve and we should start to see job growth for the first time when the numbers are reported on Friday.

With so many good reasons to be a buyer it's not surprising that we are seeing multiple offers on some properties here in San Francisco.  Our market never took the same hit reported in many other places.  We experienced some price drops but stabilized midway through 2009 and we've seen steady improvement in most areas since then.

With inventory levels in San Francisco still relatively low this is a good time for sellers as well as buyers.  We've achieve a balanced market.  Well prepared home are selling quickly and buyers have lots of great reasons to act now.

The flowers are blooming, the weather has turned beautiful and the Spring Buying Season is officially in full bloom!

Hi Frank, I'm glad to hear that things look so good for your area. That is a good sign for the rest of the country. Take care.

Hey, Frank - You have $200,000 of credit. Should that be $200,000,000 instead, over three years?
