Used Car Salesmen

Sales without selling -

Is there such a thing?  How? Who else knows of this?

Yes, simple and everyone.

Everyone hates to be at a used car dealership, unless you are me.  I love it, I love watching the salesmen fall all over the place, negotiating with the guy in the backroom, him coming out to make his point, the whole game.  I LOVE IT.

If you look at everything as a game (even life) you can score points, get demoted or cruise at the front of the pack it makes it all that much easier to take in stride.  Don't ever take things personally, you can only do what you can do.  No more, but if you do less you will know.  Why do you hate the car dealership again?

Guys too pushy? Doing too little? Not knowing their product well enough? You can see the dollar signs in their eyes?

When I started in Real Estate and I wrote up two Million Dollar purchases in one day I am quite certain the dollar signs lit up in my eyes.  Since then I have written up more of these transactions, some coming to fruition and some not.  The dollar signs have left my eyes and I truly look at it as more of a game, not me versus the client (too much liability) but me and the client versus the other party.

It's how you play the game that counts.......and if you do it right, you will win.

Love your post.  I like my old clients to refer to me as the person who helped them buy or sell their home.  Especially with buyer brokerage, the old sales person paradigm doesn't work.

I try to tell people that all of the time.  Of course, the money is an underlying issue, but it should never be the reason you do your job!  Thanks for the post.

I agree ... serve the client's need and you'll make a sale.  Just be sure to qualify their business and acoid wasting your time.
