Spring Break Travel
Many hit the airports and just as many pile in cars, SUV's and hit the road for a sunny destination. One of our advisors is taking a family trip from Michigan to the pan handle of Florida.
It was amazing how little planning they did for the trip. They said they were going to pack, load and hit the road. They didn't consider road construction, stops for food anything...just take it as it comes. More of an adventure that way...was the comment.
I don't find not knowing where I am going to stop and adventure. Hotels and motels on many routes will be booked because of spring break. You might find yourself driving long after your intended stop time. Which means you can create a personal danger to yourself and others by driving after you are tired and your normal defensive guard comes down.
Long distance trips can be a great family bonding opportunity. Planning games, using Ipods, movies, personal PDA's and creating a log or Twitter accounts of your trip including Facebook can also increase your following and help others with route information.
Technology can increase your fun or for some decrease it, depending on perspective. Some people just want to disappear for a week or two and have someone else handle phone calls and issues within their real estate business. That can work if the person covering has an emergency number or has your blessing to handle any situation as they see fit at the time.
Enjoy spring break and make it memorable. Nothing better than creating life long memories that make you smile every time you think of them!
