When I was quite small and learning to walk I was a determined child. My mother told me that I would repeat "Can Do" over and over when trying to take those first steps. They called me the "Can Do" girl. As I look back over my accomplishments in life I see that the times I employed a "Can Do" attitude I always got to my goal. I think the times I floundered and failed to achieve are those times that I lost that "Can Do" attitude.
I was a good student in school using that "Can Do" to earn good grades and excel but sometime over the course of high school never managed to focus in on a career path. Well it was the 1970's, after all, and women were having a hard time focusing on exactly what it was we were supposed to be doing. I did head to college for a year but without my "Can Do" attitude. I decided to take some time off and here I am 30+ years later without a college degree. I have had many great highlights and brilliant shinning moments during those 30 years in which I decided to accomplish a goal and brought that "Can Do" back to the forefront of my mind.
I think that we all need to remember that no matter where we are in life, we are given moments to make decisions that will send us on a path of successes or keep us pinned down by fear of failure or despair. My wish for all of you today is that you find your "Can Do" and get it done. Make today that moment of decision. Choose your goal and you are on the way. Take that first step and the rest will follow.
