Land for sale in Perry County, Alabama.

Why buy in Perry County? Perry County, Alabama is rich in history, abundant in natural resources, and brimming with good people. Marion is the county seat of Perry County, and is known as "the College City" because it is home to both Judson College and Marion Military Institute.Pine Plantation

Located in the Historic Black Belt region, Perry County has a long history of successful agriculture. For generations, row crops such as cotton and soybeans were grown in the rich black fertile soils that give the region its name. Now Perry County has an established forest industry and a large aquaculture presence- particularly catfish farming.

Alabama Highways 5, 14, 80, 183, and 219 are the main thoroughfares that connect our county with other areas in the state. Marion is conveniently located within 50 miles of Tuscaloosa, 55 miles of Birmingham, and about 65 miles to Montgomery.

The crown jewel of Perry County is the pristine Cahaba River. The Cahaba is home to many unique species of plants and animals including the endangered Cahaba lily. Spending a day canoeing and fishing on the Cahaba is a real treat. Often overlooked, Perry Lakes Park is a spectacular place to enjoy a day in the outdoors. The park has miles of nature trails, picnic areas, restrooms, Barton's Beach, and a 100' tall birding tower.

Talladega National Forest Sign

The Talladega National Forest comprises huge sections of the county, with thousands of acres of land available for public use. Purchasing a piece of land that borders the National Forest allows you to use your property and have access to the public land next door.

Perry County is well-known in hunting circles for its large population of quality white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, feral hogs, and other abundant game animals. Our area offers some of the finest hunting in the United States, and is a spectacular place to own hunting land.

Alabama's property taxes are some of the lowest in the nation, our land is comparatively cheap, so it makes financial sense to buy land in Perry County.
