When STAGING A HOME FOR SALE,   FRESH GREENERY, FRESH FLOWERS,and  FRESH FRUIT ADD a sense of LIFE AND NEWNESS AND COLOR  TO THE HOME.  For the home seller, there is no faster OR less expensive way to add the touch of luxury.

The training from the Barb Schwarz organization at www.stagedhomes.com suggests to look to the outdoors, to what can be brought indoors to add fresh, to add green, to add life and  to "bring the outdoors in."

In the dead of winter, it  can be that greenery may be scarce; however not so in Spring. In Abilene the redbud trees are blooming all up and down Sayles Boulevard, the oldest street in Abilene. The flowers are blooming on every street corner now at corner grocery (HEB) and home stores alike (LOWES) and HOME DEPOT)

A favorite fresh flower are white tulips.  Fresh white flowers in a red vase will make any room sing with joy.

A favorite dining room look that anybody can pull off.  If I can do it,  it you can, too.   Take three to five  glass cylinder vases the ones about one inch diameter across, just big enough for one flower.  and place ONE white flower in each cylinder (MY favorite is fresh tulips)  and arrange on the dining table.  A large rectangular table would need three to five vases  arranged in a line.  A smaller table would probably look fine with three.    For a round table, place the glass cylinders in a circle.  Of course a color that accents the dining room will work.  I like white because it is neutral and adds luxury, is so fresh and bright and goes with everything!  White tulips, white roses, white carnations would also work.  I just discovered that one white carnation in a little black oriental vase looked sensational on a kitchen counter next to a staging vignette.

Don't get me wrong.  I still use silk plants, not much choice in a vacant home, because the sad truth is fresh flowers do fade, but in an occupied home, tending the flowers is one of the joys of selling.  The home owner has the perfect excuse to buy FRESH to help the HOME Sell!!!

That is what flowers and greenery do, they bring in that extra glamour, that living element, and make your staging that more glamourous.

Go green with FRESH this Spring.  Go outdoors and see what can be brought in!

My most affordable verbal consultations (1-2 hours) are PERFECT for those who just want to know what to do FAST to get the house on the market NOW.  Call me at 325-721-2429 for an appointment.

Great blog,  I wish I could take all the listings around and pack them up and stage them.  That single thing would change our market

I agree, Fernando, staging is a great listing tool!

Robert, I like that..."a little zing"

Mary Lou,  I appreciate the input of fellow Realtors and Stagers.

Shelton,  Thanks for the "great blog"  Yes, I think every listing needs staging, even the ones the seller's don't seem to think so.

Yes I totally agree that Staging helps any house no matter what the size or type of house.  Just like your car if you were going to sell it.  You would wash and wax...clean it up or just get it detailed.  Why? Because you want it to be the best looking for the best price so you can sell it quickly.  Why wouldn't you want to detail/Stage your largest investment your home.  The better a home looks the better if sells!  Less time on the market...less house payments and less marketing materials.  There are so many benefits to Staging a home...and yes it sure helps to bring the outdoors in.  Great Post Beverly!!!

Linda,  Thanks for the Great Post!  My head is starting to swell, LOL.  I so agree, that just like your car, the house must be washed and waxed  to be clean and detailed.  The last 2 houses I have staged have been previously tenant occupied, but I think there needs to be another saying, that the way you would rent a house is NOT the way you sell a house!   The last one, is oh, everything is clean, the tenant got a full deposit back! Well...  it might have been clean enough to show a tenat, ... but not clean enough show a buyer, hmmm....
