R.A. Smith Gifts on FM 1960 East of Lake Houston is a great store to check out if you are looking for a special gift to purchase for some one of any age. They carry a huge array of products for any season and any reason of gifts. It is very convenient to the Humble, Atascocita, Crosby and Dayton areas. It is about 5-7 miles East of Lake Houston. I have shopped there several times. The ladies that own it are always so friendly. I went in there a couple of days ago, and I am always amazed on the huge amount of inventory they have in there. They carry a huge line of scented oils, oil burners, candles and other air freshener products. I purchased a little deal to hang from the rear-view mirror to make my car smell prettier. It is a beautiful little holder.

They are the first to admit that the building its self is not all that pretty. But, they have sure filled the place with pretty stuff! When you walk in the door off of the front porch that holds the sale items, you see the front room. Right by the front door they have a large selection of sandals that you can customize by changing the straps. It's nice to know there is a place nearby with those. I'd seen them in other stores, but I'd prefer to buy them local. It's also nice to know I can go in there to get a new strap to change them up if I get a new outfit.

The selection of candles in there is overwhelming, and then there are the scented oils for the beautiful glass burners. Your nose will be tired. They also have tote bags, crystal, jewelry, wind chimes, gardening decorations, dishes, linens, and Nic-Knacks. And that's not even half of the store. It would take you quite a long time to see the front room, but don't stop at that room.

There is a larger room off of the back that holds so many treasures. They keep Christmas Trees set up year round. During the Christmas season, they spread those trees out and most of the back room of the store is turned into a Christmas decor Mecca, which so many beautiful trees that are decorated by themes and colors. They used to do Estate Sales, and held quite an extensive inventory of Antique furniture and other items, such as China. But, when the owner's husband died, she said she just couldn't keep up with all of the Estate Sales, so she shifted her business plan to sell more gifts and less antiques. They still have some furniture and Antiques in the back. If you are in the market for a Head board for your bed, or a kitchen Table, they might have just what you are looking for.

At the other end of the big back room they have some toys for kids, both new, and gently used. They also have some collections of Antiques that they may or may not sell you, but they are really neat to see. (They have quite a collection of riding toy tractors and Shirley Temple dolls that they don't sell, but they are so cool!)

They have gifts for men to cover their many interests. They also carry quite a bit of Western or Texas themed items for decorating your ranch.

They also have a section of old Antique books for sale. This is my husband's favorite part of the store. Just to warn you, there are quite a few fragile items in this store, and it is pretty packed for pushing a stroller through. I can take my daughter there, but not my wild son. He would LOVE the place, but the inventory would not withstand him very well.

Speaking of sons, they have a pretty good selection of Thomas the Train toys there, and John Deere toys. They also sell stuffed animals and dolls for the girls.

I highly recommend R. A. Smith gifts to you for Mother's and Father's Day Gifts. But make special plans to go there at Christmas time. This is when the store really shines.
