(not so) Wordless Wednesday ~ Digging Up the Past...

Digging up the past...
In domestic disputes, it is not unusual for one party, who has a memory longer than an elephant, to start digging up the past. 10 years ago at 0822, you... Stuff like this is counter productive and accomplishes nothing.
Sometimes it is okay to dig up the past. While inspecting a property in Franklin, TN that used to be one of the battle fields in the the Battle of Franklin, my eye caught a faint glitter of something metallic. Doing a little probing, I was able to dig up some of the past.
To the best of my knowledge, what I found was a .54 caliber round that was used by both the Union and Confederate armies. As I am a Civil War Buff, I will add this to my collection of artifacts. Goes to show you, digging up the past can be a good thing...

Michael, very cool find.  Digging up the past can be fun.  We found an arrowhead a few weeks ago along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.

Looks like a mean bullet,  I would not want to get hit by that slug.

Michael...

We were once building homes south of Jonesboro GA, and while we didn't find any artifacts, the earthworks were plainly visible in the woods behind the subdivision. It is awe inspiring to think of what it was like there in the heat of battle.

Michael, It seems to me, if I remember correctly HAHA that it is the female elephant that recalls every moment and every date of that moment! Great find for your collection!

When I saw the photo I was only half-way reading through - I thought you were going to say something like 'this is the bullet that you shot at me when you were mad' back in 1984.  Glad to know it goes much further back!

Mike,

Great find. Sometimes I take photos on and old section of Ft. Meade that used to be the artillery range. I hope I never find anything that didn't explode there.

It matters to us as much as it matters to you.

Michael, could you please re-seed the hole you dug in my back yard?  Kidding aside I am watching the creation of the battle field park that used to be a golf course in my back yard.
