Seems like the only segment of the real estate market still moving is the investor rush on foreclosed homes which banks are letting go for pennies on the dollar. Seems like class warfare to me but what do I know. I think that the tax credit will not expire like a realtor exclaimed yesterday... In fact it may go away for a week or so but I am sure it will be back when May and June roll around and not a peep is heard by the normal move up and move in group.
Realtors all over the country have adopted a new strategy in terms of how to liquidate short sales and foreclosures, LIE!! Can't tell you how many times over the last couple months a family member has been out and out lied to by SEVERAL different real estate professionals, working with several different firms, and believe it or not they are all saying the EXACT same thing.
" This property will sell today!", "We expect several offers by the end of the day.", or " We currently don't have an offer but we should be receiving one via fax any minute." Then when an offer is submitted the other offer automatically becomes full price. If there were that many offers flying around the statistics would be booming. I guess in the face of extraordinary events real estate professionals must say things that are extra-ordinary just to get people to move.
Sadly, this tactic is highly illegal and very unprofessional... and yet widely accepted within the industry and even preached by sales managers and the people making any kind of living in the business anymore.
I have a better idea, why not just market yourself better? Really! Just do a better job at getting warm bodies in front of you so that you don't have to continue to lie to make a living.
Video and Photos are now at the core of online marketing and if you have great video and robust photos and slideshows on your better than average website you don't need to lie, because your probably getting a steady flow of leads every single day.
