One thing I love about selling Sarasota real estate is being able to share the local traditions and favorite "hole in the wall" places with my clients. What it took me 5 years to discover, I can download to them and allow them to begin to enjoy life here to the fullest - right away!
Driving down Clark Road in Sarasota the other day, I was absolutely thrilled to see a sign for the newly opened Broken Egg. The restaurant has been a Siesta Key tradition for as long as I can remember, and beyond. Locals and tourists alike return again and again, willing to wait patiently in the long lines to get a fantastic breakfast.
Now located both on Clark Road and in Lakewood Ranch, The Broken Egg has given access to the "mainlanders." Same great food, without the wait times which are a way of life on Siesta Key this time of year. People vacationing on Siesta Key may actually find it quicker to drive 3 miles over the south causeway and eat on the mainland.
Whatever you order, make sure you have their incredible hash browns. The Sampler is a perennial favorite - do not let the description fool you, with a pancake as large as a pizza pie, this is more than enough food for a grown man. I'll see you there.
