Why don't big commercial Real estate Development companies communicate well!

This is so amazing to me. I do not get this idea of doing business. In my experience of being a residential and commercial real estate broker. As a whole communication is very poor. You occasionally have agents who answer their phone and get back to there emails in an efficient manner. I have lived by this principal. I either answer my phone or call you back in one hour. It is called customer service. Your referrals will go up substantially if you provide this simple service. I am negotiating a $300,000 lease right now and the listing agent won't call back or it takes him two to three days. No since of urgency. Do you understand that if this was my agent I would fire him. You are doing your client a disservice when you do not answer your phone or communicate fast. I am ranting a bit but I think this is something that really  needs to be discussed in the real estate and mortgage business. Sometimes I try to get offers to agents and you can not reach them for a couple days. Take this blog to heart agents and watch your income increase.

It seems to me that many commercial agents feel they are the center of the transaction, and any other agent in the transaction cost them $$$.

Bill - There are some RE agents are slow to return phone calls. Thanks for sharing an informative and helpful blog.

I give people the benefit of the doubt, but I also have an Excel databased with names and comments in it. They get three strikes and then they are out because it's obvious that their way of doing business doesn't mesh well with mine. If it just happens once, though, then it could have been a family emergency or something.
