Santa Fe Haciendas Parade of Homes

By
Real Estate Agent with harvey & associates realty

This years Santa Fe's Haciendas Parade of Homes will be held in mid August.  This is one of my favorite area events to attend.  As a Taos Realtor,  a local homebuilder's partner and a "wanna be" homestager this event provides a  wealth of great ideas and the unique chance to see what other builders and designers are doing in the wonderful arena of Santa Fe homebuilding and design. Most of these are truly well done and very beautiful.

If you have never attended one of these events and love looking at both upscale and unique homes don't miss this.  It is held two weekends so there is ample opportunity to take your own self guided tour. I am sure I walk around with my jaw open half the time.  I go several days of the event and return to my favorite homes a second time for a closer look.  Once again---If you can attend this event DON'T MISS IT!

Here is the website so you can see more detail and get all the dates.

Sounds like a great time.  How is the custom home market doing.  Do you build near Angel Fire too?

We are bidding a job near Angel Fire.  Angel Fire is being hyped by National Recreational Properties on television in selected markets so I expect a surge of custom homes to happen there.  The problem will be finding the work force there and the short summers limit the number of starts in a year. This corporation bought up lots of land there a few years ago and is not marketing it extensively and flying people in to look at homesite properties.

The custom home market in Taos has slowed considerably.  My husband does mostly speculation homes but they are staying on the market longer periods of time.  Permits are down because most of the spec builders are waiting to see what happens to the market this year.  The inventory on existing homes continues to rise. It is way more expensive to pay for a custom home right now than to buy a new finished spec home.

Thanks for your interest! Where are you?
