Embedding Maps in a Post
YES! Top of the to do list!
I had a great time doing Activerain University today...a few minor problems. My computer wouldn't connect to the webinar.Ugh.....
So Brad was doing all the showing of the screens.
One thing the things that came up and I received a few emails on was how I embedded maps into my blog post.
So here goes.
- Write your blog post in WSIWG.
- Save in draft.
- Then go to HTML.
- Grap the html from the Google Map.
How do you get the HTML Code from Google Maps?
Go to Google Search and put in the address of the property you want, or the neighborhood, or school location.
I put in Google Search... 9721 Plymouth, MI.
Then click on the address next to the map. The blue underlined words.
A LARGE map will come up.
On the right hand side of your screen, click on the chain link and two links will come up.
Click on under the 2nd link where is says, "customize and preview this embedded map."
The screen shot below will pop up.
Choose the size you want and grab the html code, (Control A, Control C)
Now you are in HTML so just paste (control V into your blog post)
HIT POST BLOG ENTRY IN HTML IN DRAFT.
DO NOT GO BACK TO WSIWYG.
If you go back to WSIWYG you will have to start over.
Do not ask me why, I haven't a clue.
If you like the way it looks in draft...
then you can go back to edit and change to public and Post Again.
DO NOT GO BACK TO WSIWYG.
Submit your post from HTML.
Voila!
***Hint, when I am learning something new in AR I have two windows open, so I can follow the instructions step by step.****
