Gopher Canyon Area of Vista, CA - Exclusive or Reclusive?

There is something going on over in the Gopher Canyon area of Vista, CA that few people really know about...it's become an exclusive retreat to the rich and famous...or those just willing to give it all up for a little pampering! 

I just happened to turn on a fairly new show the other night that I had recorded on my DVR, "Kirstie Alley's Big Life", which is a reality TV show that focuses on her home life and efforts to lose weight. In an all out effort to beat her weight loss buddy, who is also her handyman around her house, Kirstie takes her crew to an exclusive spa in Vista, CA...Cal-A-Vie Health Spa...located, you guessed it, off of Gopher Canyon Road on Spa Havens Way.  Kirstie is not the only fan of this inclusive spa, it is rumored to be a favorite get-away for a very famous talk show host, and I have also heard of several celebrities buying homes within close proximity to the spa. This isn't surprising, because according to The Examiner, several celebs are loyal patrons.

The spa is not the only thing bringing in the elite to the Gopher Canyon area of Vista, CA.  Vista Valley Country Club is a private club that includes a championship 18-hole golf course designed by Ted Robinson.  This exclusive club is the envy of many, but you must be the guest of a member to play this course. 

Now for reclusive...there are huge homes and estates in this Gopher Canyon area of Vista, CA...this area is green and lush almost year round.  It could be your perfect place to escape!  It can be your own refuge from the world, it's very freeway close, but with a rural feel that is loved by many.  Who doesn't love to drive down gently winding roads that are canopied by gorgeous huge trees?  I admit it...I am biased.  I drive this road 4 times a day, Monday through Friday, while driving my kids to their private school.  It is a very fun drive, almost an escape.  It is actually my dream to live off of this road someday.  Don't have the money for a full blown estate?  Not many of us do, so now would be a great time to look for a little slice of the dream...for a much smaller chunk of change than you would have had to pay for it say 4 years ago...there are definitely some smaller homes available in the area.
