Shades Mountain Park Hoover AL

Shades Mountain Park Hoover AL is a multi-field little league baseball facility located near the heart of the community that features 9 fields on 14 acres with playground, picnic, concessions, practice and hitting areas, bleacher seating and parking.  This facility draws players from such schools as Bluff Park, South Shades Crest, Deer Valley, Trace Crossings and others.  Currently, the neighborhoods of Lake Crest, Lake Cyrus, Trace Crossings, Russett Woods, Bluff Park and others are represented in the league.

Shades Mountain Park, located just across the Preserve subdivision on Al Seier Road north of John Hawkins Parkway, is a community managed 100% by volunteer parents that help with everything from fund-raising to coaching to field maintenance to creating a facility that, in my opinion, is second to none in offering a wholesome environment for children to grow and develop on the baseball diamond.  Also known as Hoover Sports Park West, Shades Mountain Park is owned by the City of Hoover. 

From the standpoint of housing, Shades Mountain Park adds a quality of life element that not all communities enjoy or share, at least not at this level.  Having an 8-year old son play at this park for the past three years with the privilege of coaching as an assistant, I can say first hand that this venue is a big asset to Hoover and certainly another reason for buying a home here.  There are strong family values in this community creating a valuable foundation for home owners.
