In my last post, we discussed Gopher Canyon area real estate in Vista, CA...today, we are going to hop on the 15 South freeway and exit at the Deer Springs exit which takes us to the Hidden Meadows area in Escondido, CA...literally just 5 minutes away from our previous destination.
I graduated from high school in 1989 from Escondido High School, and having just moved out here from Vermont, I remember visiting friends who lived over in the Hidden Meadows area and instantly feeling more at home than I did in the city of Escondido, even though we were only a few short minutes outside of the city. The subdivision of Hidden Meadows has been very careful about keeping their rural feel, while building luxurious home communities that were tailored to busy professionals - estate style homes are very common here.
I actually have a friend who just bought a home via short sale in a gated community over in Hidden Meadows in Escondido, CA. The picture to the right is a quick shot that I took of her home on my first visit. Her backyard actually overlooks the golf course, as do many...but don't think that takes away from the rural feel...while she was giving me a tour of her lovely home on that first visit and we were looking out at her backyard through her glass doors, we saw a coyote (big one) looking through her back wrought-iron style fence! So, even the wildlife still feel like it's their home here in Hidden Meadows.
Now for luxurious...as I briefly mentioned above, many homes in the area either overlook or directly border the Meadow Lakes Golf Club, which was voted one of the "Top Public and Semi-private golf courses" in San Diego by San Diego Business Journal, and it was also awarded 3 stars by Golf Digest. There is a pro shop on site as well as a bar and grill.
So whether you are looking for an estate style home for your family in a rural setting, or you're looking to be in a great golfing community, or both - take a look at the Hidden Meadows subdivision in Escondido, CA when looking for real estate in North San Diego County.
