NACA is a good program, but not available in St. Mary's County, MD. Do you or anyone know how to get it available here?

I had a TERRIBLE experience with them. They took all of my personal information, and then never answered phones when you call for status of application. Every time I called the bank they said they hadn't received anything from NACA. In the end I sent them a letter to terminate my file so that I could use a company with standards that could be reached.

Sorry - my above posting was not very clear. I would not recommend NACA to anyone I know. They did nothing for me. My guess is that for every file they have on record the government pays them. (I was trying for the "home save" program.) They got paid for doing nothing. In the end I was worse off, because I had wasted one and a half years waiting for them to help me - which they never did.

Don't do it!!

I used NACA when I purchased my condo in '06 and I went through the program with no problems.  But maybe NACA was pretty hands off with my loan because I had already secured my loan through BOA.  I only wanted to go through NACA for the fringe benefits of lowering my interest rate and not having to pay monthly PMI.

I took the 5 hour saturday class, went through the counselor session as a formality to get what I wanted out of the program.  Once I recived my NACA certificate BOA did in fact lower my interest rate and I do not pay any PMI on my mortgage which saved me a few hundred dollars per month.  During my process I was able to contact people in the office relatively easy and had no problems during my process.

Fast forward to 2012, my girlfriend is now looking to buy a home and wants to take advantage of the save NACA savings that I did but for months we have not been able to get anyone on the phone to get into the program.  She has said that she has already had some dealing with the program and thinks that she may have done the class some years ago when she was looking for a house a while back.  She has found an amazing home at an amazing price  but now we are in a holding pattern because she does not want to pay 400 in PMI every month and she is not able to get ahold of anyone at NACA.
