As the economy changes, many families are finding themselves moving to Metropolitan Denver, due to its “stronger than the rest” economy, it’s outdoor lifestyle and its relatively stable cost of living. Undoubtedly, if you’ve taken the time to do the research, you’ll find that Washington Park, known by the locals as “Wash Park” has made your short list.

Washington Park is one of the city’s friendliest neighborhoods. The neighborhood surrounds a centrally located public park, referred to by the locals as “Wash Park”. The neighborhood is located within a 5 minute drive to the offices of Downtown, the shopping of Cherry Creek, and the interstate highway I-25.  It’s central (to everything) location makes Wash Park one of the most coveted locations metro-Denver has to offer.

At first glance you’ll notice Wash Park is a “health Mecca”. Runners of all abilities are everywhere. People walking with their dogs, cyclists, inline skaters, tennis players, lawn bowlers and sun worshipers are seen wherever you look. It really does take on the same feel as New York's Central Park (on a good day for the NYC park). Take a closer look and you’ll see families everywhere too. Parents, with their children playing on swings and groups of kids kicking soccer balls can’t help but catch your eye. Wash Park is truly a place where you can stop to smell the tulips, the daisies and a variety of other flowers, as you peruse through the more than 50 flowerbeds. Bird watching comes in many forms, but watching families of geese with their goslings swim about one of Wash Park’s two lakes is truly a way to stop and enjoy the finer things in life, all within the city limits. Family entertainment comes in many forms and when it comes to the outdoor varieties, Wash Park is truly a place to bring yours.

When it comes to the local neighborhood, Wash Park is one of the city’s first “neighborhoods”. Its turn of the century brick homes are the prominent features of Old Denver. Take a stroll onto Old South Gaylord Street and you’ll find art galleries, fine dining, specialty shops that are the envy of many.

If you’re relocating to Denver, you truly owe it to your family to consider looking for a home in Wash Park.
