This month's program focused on cultural diversity and featured Kate Howell and Kelly Moore of the International Institute St. Louis.  Since 1919, the International Institute St. Louis has assisted immigrants and refugees to resettle in St. Louis, to assimilate into their new communities and to contribute to the diversity of the area. Services provided by the International Institute St. Louis include:

  • Citizen Preparation Training
  • Translation Services
  • Interpretation Services
  • Language Skills Training
  • Job Placement
  • Job Training Services
  • Temporary Housing
  • Family Support Services
  • Counseling

Annually, over 8,000 immigrants and refugees receive direct services with an additional 50,000 immigrants and refugees receiving training or assistance via outreach programs.

The International Institute St. Louis provides much needed services to various ethnic communities in St. Louis. St. Louis REALTORS® can contribute to the mission of the International Institute St. Louis as follows:

  • Promote awareness of the International Institute St. Louis' services in your brokerage.
  • Refer customers in need of translation and other services to the International Institute St. Louis.
  • Request a speaker from International Institute St. Louis to speak at your brokerage or other meeting.
  • Join the International Institute St. Louis' Young Friends Network.
  • Make a charitable contribution - cash, clothing or household items, or services - to the International Institute St. Louis.
  • Volunteer as a teacher or consultant in one of the programs sponsored by the International Institute St. Louis.
  • Use the job placement services of the International Institute St. Louis to hire or employ a recent immigrant or refugee.
  • Use a immigrant or refugee-owned business from the International Institute St. Louis' business development program.
