Social Suicide

By
Real Estate Agent with Silvercreek Realty Group

Social media is definitely have a huge impact on how we market today.  It is a great tool to have in your marketing efforts to reach your clients both past and potential.

There is one problem that can truly be detrimental to your business.  It is call the fan page!  It is great to have fan pages of your interests and things that you like to be associated with.  It is great to have friends/competitors but when they send out their fan page promoting their business why would you accept to be a fan.  You are allowing all those on your friends list to see this and could lose some some potential clients due to this.

It is great to have a fan for your business but you have to selective on who you become a fan of.

Don't give your business away....

Corey:  The reason you state above is only ONE reason of the many reasons I do not like the Facebook idea... or Twitter.  Maybe using it social... might be ok... just not for me.

So true for anything that is public... think First before you post anything! Like that leather speedo photo, probably not a great idea!

You are definitely right Tamara, we have to watch out for those negative impacts.  Being well balanced in all marketing aspects is a good thing.

Corey,

You are very correct.  Social Media changes every day, and we are making it up as we go.  Who had heard of facebook three years ago - It was My Space that was huge at the time.  Who know's where we are actually going?

You are right Gerald.. It is hard to believe how we doing things today compared to 5 years ago.   Now just think how we might be doing things 5 years from now.

Oh I definitely think so Jill.  There are those that could be just watching what we are doing to copy what you are doing.
